I’m an American who lived in Italy for three months. This unexpected perk wound up being one of the best.
As seen on We the Italians’ page
Moving to Italy had always been a dream of mine, but I had those same pesky excuses we all have. I mean, how do you just up and relocate your entire life? Sometimes, however, the universe makes that decision for you. After a rough summer where I lost my job and my beloved dog, Bowie, died within just a few weeks of each other, I knew something had to give. After taking some time to sulk, I booked a one-way ticket to Naples, Italy.
I knew I couldn’t stay in Italy long-term due to visa restrictions, so I decided to make the most of three months on a tourist visa. I rented an apartment on a short-term agreement, and my dream of moving to Italy came together fairly seamlessly.
