Moka Day is launched: on 21 April, the world celebrates the Italian Moka, first introduced by Bialetti in 1933
On Tuesday 21 April, coffee lovers around the world will celebrate the first Moka Day, a new annual event dedicated to one of the most recognisable icons of Italian culture: the Moka pot. The initiative is promoted by Bialetti, the historic Italian company founded by Alfonso Bialetti, inventor of the Moka Express in 1933, with the aim of celebrating a small household item that has shaped the way generations of people prepare and enjoy coffee.
The date chosen for Moka Day – 21 April – is no coincidence. It is, in fact, the World Creativity and Innovation Day and marks the opening of Milan Design Week 2026, when the international design community gathers in the Italian city to celebrate the objects that shape everyday life.
